A high-capacity grid connection in France is a long procedure, with its own steps, documents and timelines. An incomplete or poorly sized file can cost months. Our role: prepare a request the grid operator can process without delay, then follow it through to the technical and financial offer (PTF).
DOES YOUR SITUATION LOOK LIKE ONE OF THESE?
WHAT WE DO
Voltage level: Enedis distribution grid (MV) or RTE transmission grid (HV)
Exploratory study: launch, update or review of an existing study
PTF request file: technical and administrative documents, review before filing
Follow-up: answers to questions, meetings with the grid operator
Offer review: technical solution, works, cost, schedule, acceptance terms
MV OR HV: TWO PROCEDURES
Up to a few tens of megawatts, connection is usually on Enedis' distribution grid (MV). Above that, it falls to RTE's transmission grid (HV). Some projects combine both: a first phase on the distribution grid while the main RTE connection is built, as in Cambrai. Both requests must then run in parallel.
WHO IS INVOLVED
Xavier Watrelos, an engineer with 20+ years of industrial projects from €5m to €100m, including HV and MV connections and commissioning, coordinated by a single point of contact. See his profile and our data center engineering consultancy page.
WHAT WE DO NOT PROMISE
Whether a PTF is issued, its timing and content are decided by the grid operator. Our commitment is a best-efforts obligation: a complete, credible file filed early, and close follow-up.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who can prepare a connection request to RTE?
The applicant files and signs the request. A specialised engineer or advisor can prepare the file, size the capacity and follow the process on its behalf.
What is the difference between MV and HV connection in France?
MV (HTA) is Enedis' distribution grid, usually up to a few tens of megawatts. HV (HTB) is RTE's transmission grid, for larger capacities.
