Normandy, Brittany and Pays de la Loire attract projects looking for land that is less contested than in the Paris region. The high-voltage network is less dense, which makes substation-by-substation analysis all the more necessary.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR A PROJECT

Less demand does not mean more capacity. A region less sought after by data centers can offer land, but a less meshed grid sometimes requires longer works to bring the power in. Distance to the substation and the voltage level available often set the timeline.

Smaller projects, often with Enedis. Many projects in the region stay below a few tens of megawatts and connect to the distribution network. See Enedis connection for 20 to 30 MW and modular data centers.

WHAT WE DO FOR A PROJECT IN GRAND OUEST

The problem. A well-located plot says nothing about the power actually available or the timeline. Capacity published by substation (Capareseau, data.gouv.fr) is a starting point, not an answer: it ignores the queue, the works required and other projects on the same substation.

Our answer. We read public data substation by substation, prepare or check the exploratory study and the PTF request, review a site's connection documents before purchase or financing, and follow the file through to the connection agreement. See grid connection audit, protecting a queue position and verifying a site's power claim.

Who is involved. A high-voltage engineer from our network who has led transmission grid connections, with a lawyer when planning or contracts are at stake. Our commitment is a best-efforts obligation.

Connection capacity and timelines are assessed substation by substation and file by file. This page is general information as of October 2026; only RTE and Enedis commit to a capacity and a timeline.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is western France less congested for a data center?

Demand is lower than in the Paris region, but the grid is also less dense. Real capacity depends on the substation and the works required.

Where to start for a plot in Brittany or Normandy?

With a reading of public capacity at the nearest substation, then an exploratory study with RTE or Enedis depending on the target capacity.
