WHY FRANCE SPECIFICALLY

The capital is concentrating in France for three structural reasons: nuclear baseload at €50-70/MWh, brownfield sites with existing HV connections that compress timelines to 18-36 months, and a government that has built a fast-track infrastructure for large data center commitments (RTE fast-track, 63 pre-qualified sites, Loi Industrie Verte).

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR REMAINING CAPACITY

SoftBank, Nebius and Ardian together represent over 4 GW of committed capacity in France. The remaining available brownfield sites and fast-track slots are being absorbed. The window for developers targeting 2027-2028 commissioning is measured in months, not years.

GRIDREADINESS ROLE

GridReadiness identifies which French brownfield sites and EU transformer manufacturer slots remain available after the major commitments — and matches them to developers and investors whose timeline and power requirements fit the remaining capacity. Contact us for current availability.
